THE BOEING COMPANY HAS CREATED A STRATEGIC PLAN TO IMPROVE AIRCRAFT EFFICIENCT BY TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT BY THE YEAR 2012. Boeing is exploring options in regards to the possibility of a series of articles to be published in Business and Commercial Airlines. The articles would detail the following goals and accomplishments that The Boeing Company has achieved or hopes to achieve:

The goal of this series of articles is to increase awareness within the airline industry. The Boeing Company hopes that the articles will provide other companies with the necessary motivation to begin to develop more efficient airlines. Ethics Statement

The Boeing Company strives to attain a higher standard in airline efficiency by maintaining honesty. We will continuously work to bring better results that are relevant to the consumer. Boeing plans to take calculated risks when the opportunity to enhance airline efficiency is presented. As a company we will establish and keep every relationship we create.


Honesty
Honesty is The Boeing Company’s number one priority. We will be completely upfront and truthful about projects, advancements, and any other factors that will impact the consumer.


Goal Oriented
Setting goals and achieving them is something that means a great deal to Boeing. As a company we want to tell the consumer our plan, and then follow that plan on time every time.

Boeing Continues Environmental Research and Technological Advancements

The Boeing Company strives to be a leader in the aviation industry. Boeing is looking towards the future and continues to make strides in airline efficiency as well as environmental friendliness.
Working on both airline structure as well as engine efficiency puts Boeing in the forefront of aviation. Boeing’s 2009 Environmental Report lists several accomplishments that have been made overall to contribute towards the end goal of increasing efficiency.
Boeing recognizes the airline consumers increasing interest in the environment and their individual effect. In conjunction with the growing popularity of the “go green” movement, Boeing has laid out several goals to take aviation into the future.


Accomplishments

The Boeing Company makes an extreme effort to enhance several aspects of their airplanes. Some of the accomplishments have been made in efficiency, emissions and consumption.
- Since 2002 Boeing has reduced:
- Carbon Dioxide Emissions by 22%
- Energy Consumption by 23%
- Hazardous Waste by 35%


Future Goals

Although there have already been several accomplishments in efficiency, Boeing still is looking towards the future. By 2012 Boeing plans to utilize biofuels to improve efficiency by a minimum of 25%. Boeing would like to increase biofuel use in flights, eventually creating a 50/50 mixture with jet fuel. Also, as a company Boeing will strive to become as efficient and environmentally friendly as possible.

Boeing Sets Goals High With “Greener” Flights

The Boeing Company’s “Greener” Flights set to debut this weekend throughout the country.
The flights are an effort made by Boeing to increase airline efficiency and reduce environmental effects. These flights will also introduce and inform consumers about the environmentally friendly way to fly.
In order to be a “Greener” flight the passengers as well as Boeing have responsibilities. Boeing plans to utilize consumer awareness about a greener environment to help spread knowledge about airplane efficiency.
Boeing plans to increase research with biofuels. The first biofuel flight flew on December 30, 2008. There will eventually be an increase in flights using a biofuel jet fuel mixture. Flights with this mixture are known as “Greener” flights.
Consumers also have a role in “Greener” flights. On these flights there is little to no waste created by the passenger. A large majority of comfort and aesthetic features on the planes will be recycled or extremely environmentally friendly.
The Boeing Company looks forward to having a majority of it’s fleet be environmentally friendly airplanes.
